i got started with humble beginnINGs...
When I was a kid growing up, we didn't have much, so I took what we did have and created. I wrote books, painted, drew for hours and lined up my 30+ stuffed animals and sang to them all night long. I made a water slide out of plexiglass panels in our backyard and cut my whole leg the first slide down (still have the scar!). In my early twenties this creativity transitioned into a passion to make beautiful things out of something simple. I would get all my clothes on clearance and style outfits, you would see me lugging free furniture from a random driveway into my home to put together a beautiful interior design. When I picked up a camera in 2010 to photograph fashion, I realized I had a knack for the technicalities but also, taking a normal field of dead grass and making it epic imagery for my couples. It's this love for the creative process that really drives me to do what I do.
In 2009 I walked up to my future husband in a bar and told him he was cute. We sign languaged our names to each other and the rest as they say is history. Since then, we've had two beautiful little girls, Penelope and Philomena who are by far the best thing to ever happen to us. You'll find me running around town with my babies, instagramming way too many videos of my life at home with them, blogging about photography, design and mom life, cooking, watching bad reality TV, loving on my husband and I always, always, always have music playing. My love for rap music is equal to my love for classical and people get a bit confused by it, but both motivate me. Fun fact: I always listen to rap on the way to weddings!
As a wife myself, I am able to put myself in couple's shoes and the relationships I have with my client's are more important than anything. It's always my mission to capture not just beautiful imagery but real emotions. The groom's eyes as he first sees his bride walking down the aisle, a father's face as he sees his daughter for the first time in her dress, mom helping her get into her gown. Those are the real emotions that I look to capture for each and every one of my clients.
